For over twenty five years, Sport NL has proudly been the federation for organized amateur sport in Newfoundland and Labrador, representing more than 40 Provincial Sport Organizations, as the voice of amateur sport in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Who can become a member organization of Sport NL?
As a member organization of Sport NL, you fall into one of three Membership categories: Active Member, Associate Member and Honorary Member.
Active Members: The Active Membership consists of:
- The governing body of each amateur sport organization and existing in Newfoundland and Labrador as recognized and approved by the Board of Directors; and
- Each member of the Board of Directors of the Federation.
Associate Members:
The Associate Membership shall consist of such other Newfoundland and Labrador organizations active in or participating in or having an interest in an amateur sport or sports but who are not the Governing Body of an amateur sport or sports in Newfoundland and Labrador and as approved by the Board of Directors.
Honorary Members:
Honorary Membership may be accorded to individuals interested in the promotion of the objects of the Federation and shall be appointed by the Board of Directors from year to year and to hold such honorary positions as designated by the Board of Directors at the time of the appointment.
How do I become a member?
New member applications will be reviewed by Sport NL Board of Directors who will have the sole discretion to render all decisions on applications for membership. Acceptance as a member of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador can only be approved at the Annual General Meeting of Sport NL.
