The Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) has announced important updates to the NCCP Making Ethical Decisions (MED) training and evaluation process.

Effective April 1, 2026, MED will be delivered exclusively through The Locker as a self-directed eLearning module that includes both training and evaluation. A fee may apply. We will share additional details with our members as they become available.

What coaches need to know:

  • Coaches who have already completed MED training and evaluation will continue to see it on their transcript and do not need to take the new module.

  • Coaches who are currently mid-stream (completed training but not evaluation) must finish the current online evaluation by March 31, 2026 (11:59 PM PT) to avoid having to complete the full new eLearning module.

  • New coaches, and those who have only completed the MED evaluation without training, will be required to complete the new MED eLearning module as of April 1, 2026.

  • Once purchased, the new module will remain accessible anytime through The Locker.

For Coach Developers and partners:

  • MED will no longer be delivered in-person or synchronously.

  • In-person and online delivery will end March 15, 2026, with all workshop data entered by March 31, 2026.

  • Coaching NL, along with CAC and partners, will work to support Coach Developers and ensure continued involvement within the NCCP system.

Coaching NL will continue to share updates and resources as they become available. Coaches are encouraged to review their NCCP transcript and plan accordingly.

Coaching NL MED Week – Final Opportunities to Complete MED

In response to upcoming changes mandated by the Coaching Association of Canada, Coaching NL is offering multiple MED opportunities through March 15 to support coaches in completing NCCP Making Ethical Decisions (MED) before the transition to the new eLearning model on April 1, 2026.

These sessions are intended for coaches who are mid-stream or have not yet completed MED, providing a final chance to complete the training and evaluation under the current delivery format. With future costs for the new online MED module still to be confirmed, this is an important opportunity for coaches to complete MED while it remains available through Coaching NL.

Available MED dates:
📅 January: 8, 20
📅 February: 5, 19,
23, 24, 25, 26

Additional details, including registration information, are all available through our website; sportnl.ca. Coaches are encouraged to review their NCCP transcript and register early to secure a spot.
