Sport Newfoundland and Labrador is thrilled to invite coaches, athletes, sport administrators, and community leaders to the Annual SportNL Summit on November 22-23, 2024. This year’s theme, “Building a Stronger Sporting Community,” focuses on advancing sports programs across Newfoundland and Labrador while addressing key challenges and barriers faced by our sporting community.
The Summit will bring together a diverse group of industry experts, thought leaders, and sports enthusiasts to engage in discussions, workshops, and presentations aimed at strengthening the sports landscape in our province. Attendees can look forward to in-depth sessions on topics such as Official Maltreatment, Engaging High-Performance Youth, Preventing Burnout in Sports, and more.
A highlight of this year’s Summit will be the keynote address by Dr. Cassidy Preston, a renowned Mental Performance Coach, who will delve into the mental aspects of athlete performance, resilience, and strategies for overcoming adversity. In addition, on Opening Night, attendees are invited to a special discussion on athlete mental health and wellness featuring Dr. Preston and five-time Paralympian and Gold Medalist, Katarina Roxon.
“We are excited to host this year’s Summit as a platform for meaningful dialogue, learning, and growth,” says Troy Croft, Executive Director, SportNL. “With the insights from leading experts like Dr. Preston and inspiring athletes like Katarina Roxon, we aim to foster a stronger, more resilient sporting community across Newfoundland and Labrador.”
