Topic: The “F” word- Fraud Prevention in Nonprofit Organizations
Time: 7:00 pm

It’s a topic we don’t often talk about in sport, but one that unfortunately occurs all too frequently-occupational fraud. This course is designed to help staff and volunteers at nonprofit sport organizations, from becoming a victim to this crime. The course will cover what occupational fraud is, who commits it, why it happens and concrete examples of how to prevent it. Board members have a fiduciary duty to act in the best interest of the organization they govern. One of the responsibilities under this duty is to manage risk. This session is designed to help organizations reduce the risk of occupational fraud.
