SportNL has selected four individuals from two organizations to participate in the Women and Gender Equity in Coaching Community of Practice and Mentorship project.

Representing the sport of hockey will be Mentor, Linda Massie and Mentee Kailey Genge along with Mentor Melissa Hood and Mentee Hitanya Bommu representing gymnastics.

Through a partnership with the Coaching Association of Canada, the program will focus on raising awareness, providing education opportunities and practical experiences, accessing expert and training, engaging in monthly meetings and knowledge sharing, developing legacy documentation including policy changes, innovative programs, conference presentations and publications.

The program will kick off in January with the individuals travelling to Ottawa to attend their first training event.
